It’s safe to say that things haven’t been smooth sailing for Yahoo! The company has witnessed the steady collapse of its core money-making unit. Things get worse though—Yahoo! stock is down in the dumps.Market cap has dropped at an astounding rate and is poised to kill the company. The once-powerful digital media company, saw another misfortune this week.

CEO Scott Thompson was forced to step down after investment firms noted that the Yahoo! CEO had lied on his resume. Thompson listed he had a degree in Computer Science…the resume had gone unquestioned until angry investors used the faulty resume to support claims that Yahoo! was being mismanaged.

Investors also argued that the digital media company should have taken up Microsoft’s offers, one of which included an acquisition. Of course, Yahoo!’s fall has brought Bing into a prominent 2nd place in the battle of the search engine. As the company steadily withers, Bing is poised to rob market share and climb the ranks to more seriously compete with Google.

Microsoft is renewing their courtship of Yahoo… this time the news is that Software Giant from Redmond begged to be included into a high-profile meeting that would lead to  an acqusition. Microsoft signed a non-discosure agreement with Yahoo! showing immense interest in the struggling entertainment conglommerate. The rumors are true… Microsoft is eyeing Yahoo… again….

Lately, much has been going on around over the influence and sheer market overtake that Bing has had on both Google and Yahoo( even though Yahoo is powered by Bing). Google’s share has dropped 3% while Bing had an increment of 51% from 12 months ago- not bad for a scrapped up project, with a quirky name, and a short history.Bing continues to improve, innovate, and create- Google’s last major change however was the annoying Instant Search feature that freezes the browser and your computer. Just by mere appearance, Bing is simply better than Google.

Technically speaking Bing has more advanced features such as an Organization Pane that lets you see your results more efficiently and accurate. For those not understanding let me give you an example.- Search on Bing the term “Casablanca”in Images and then the same on Google Images. This is what you get: Compare and see the difference.

On the top, Bing classifies the term into the Casablanca, Casablanca Movie, Morocco Casablanca, Casablanca Flowers, and Casablanca Wedding Dresses into beautifully colored tabs that further narrow your search
